Habitat: Vernacular Architecture for a Changing Planet

One of the largest books we’ve ever designed and assembled, Habitat: Vernacular Architecture for a Changing Planet is an impressively large format with 600 pages and 1,000 illustrations. With 100 contributors, Habitat is also a landmark publication and the combination of years of specialist research, which celebrates humanity’s age-old ability to create buildings that are ingeniously adapted to their cultural and environmental conditions. The book provides lessons and inspiration on how we can build and live today. Our monolithic yet neutral approach to the design and typography allowed for the huge variety of differing building styles and techniques to come to the fore.
