Simple Spice Vegetarian

Simple Spice Vegetarian was written by acclaimed Indian chef Cyrus Todiwala for publisher Mitchell Beazley. Our overarching design concept for the title was inspired by the screen-printed cloth sacks used to transport spices worldwide. Each producer has their own distinctive branding printed on the sacks, and we created our own for the author, employing a bold magenta colour. The vivid colour was followed through on the chapter openers and it was also used for the Indian-language recipe titles on the recipe pages. We also added Indian-themed decorative roundels on the chapter openers, with the number of roundels mirroring the chapter numbers.
