Published to accompany the landmark exhibition at the British Museum, ‘Arctic: culture and climate’, our catalogue for the show offers insights into the culture of the Arctic peoples, and the impact that climate change is having on their existence that has historically depended on harsh weather conditions. Drawing on a wealth of objects, artworks and voices – from past and present – the book shows how Arctic peoples and their cultural traditions have continued to thrive amid both social and environmental change. Our cool-white and ice-blue colour palette and pared-back typography reflect the extreme and barren environment of the Arctic.
